"The Shore"
Along the sandy beach shore That is where I could open a new door To start a new life And never again strife But it is too late to try for more "My Little Red Balloon" There went my little red balloon Into the night sky to the moon Telling me goodbye Watching it fly made me cry It will reach the stars very soon By Rachel Conrad by Lindsey Evans
"To Be With He"
There is a beautiful dreamy like place Past the stars and the moon in the sky of night I read about it, a picture I can't trace A happy place, the energy is bright Could we ever dream of a place like this? It's so beautiful, of course we can't We are are human and can't see through the mist Not even when we use the brightest lamp This beautiful place awaits you and me Even though it could take years to get there There I wish to flee, to be with He I dream and dream, into the sky I stare To go with He, from here I must escape And to His beautiful house, me, He takes By Rachel Conrad

"The Universal Language"
Music can tickle the soul like a thousand flowers Music, while an intangible thing, has power no nation could hope to be Or burn a persons heart like a hundred fires Music can bend the righteous will of humanity Music can pull one out of the darkest of depression Or send a person into an emotional recession It can ignite the flames of passion And grasp the emotions of expression Music can prove a mans love, Or condemn his lust Music can provide comfort in times of need, Or fuel anger in times of expressive aggression Music manipulates the emotional state of everyone that passes by Music can make a strong man cry, a greedy man generous, a heartless man love Music is an outlet for those so bottled up inside of themselves that they can’t ask for help Music is a release, an escape, a whole new world presented to anybody willing to listen Music is universal, eternal, priceless, Music gives people a reason to survive A reason not to just give up and die- Music saves lives Music makes waves across the world Surfing along time, never dying Music is the universal language of expression Music is a necessity that I could not be without A world without music would be without me, Because a world without music would bring the death of me By Trey Simms Untitled by Rachel Conrad

"Grieve With A Smile "
We step up and take the stage. A million outsiders wanting praise. Holding hostages, secrets we dare not tell, behind glossy eyed stares (day dreaming the day away). Taking on personas that leave ourselves in shadows, An act that leaves us e x a u s t e d and w e a r y. Making it seem like we're fine, a smiling face as we grieve under the surface. Quietly hoping for an outstretched hand to save us. by Lindsey Evans |
"For Ever"
I want someone tall and not as much handsome. Eyes like daylight shine right back in mine. I couldn't care about the color of your hair, change it daily along with the thickness of your penciled in liner I will love your crooked teeth for ever and ever. Tell me I’m pretty and how my dress looks so stunning on, not being too quick to take it off. And get inside my brain to know what I think to know my next move before I can make it. Dance around the room with me faster and faster. let's be teenagers forever sing to classic rock and party, like it’s 1999. Leave me your sweater so I can smell your cologne tuck me in with your silly secretive voice before you leave me for your own, kiss my forehead and say you love me one last goodnight for everything I am. "This Train Car Creates Our Darkness"
The snow surrounds us Crowding, pushing, falling, shoving Fighting for room in this small space The light from then stars does not reach us We see with each painful prick of cold that lands On our translucent skin We cannot rely on the stars for guidance For we cannot see past the cold, crushing , corpses Nor the beasts that kill brothers for bread And their keepers who drop it in piece by piece We have trampled on the bodies Of the living and the dying The old and weak who vary in age Who are blinded by impending death and self pity No, we cannot see the hope, nor the light We cannot rely on the stars for guidance Meghan Burton |
